Gordon Wissinger is a fine art photographer based in Southwest Harbor, Maine in the heart of Acadia
National Park. At the age of 12, his grandfather handed him a 35 mm SLR and he never looked back.
His basic philosophy regarding photography is that every day has opportunities that are better than the
day before - we just need a way of reminding ourselves of this fact. Every day has new opportunities for
us to pursue, or not. Photography has allowed him to pursue many that would have otherwise been
missed or ignored. He makes photographs to remember the thoughts and feelings of the moment.

He and his wife Lisa currently own and operate Acadia Cottages (www.acadia-cottages.com), an
environmentally friendly inn in the heart of Acadia National Park. Through his images and inn-keeping
practices, his goal is to show the beauty of the environment and demonstrate how each person can take
a part in maintaining this beauty.
