Let your Radiator Radiate
(Page 95)

Got a radiator in your home? Use foil to help it be more efficient.

Cover cardboard (recycled, not newly bought for this purpose!) with heavy-duty aluminum foil (shiny side out), and place it behind your radiator. This will direct the heat out away from the wall, and make your room a little warmer without raising the thermostat. You might even be able to lower it a few degrees.

It’s not an eyesore... you can size it so that you can barely see it. It doesn’t have to be a huge piece of cardboard; just enough to reflect.
