Got Tarnish? Pass the Ketchup.
(Page 65)

Copper and silver tarnish removers are full of chemicals and they are expensive. And if you are like me, you forget about the products for months at a time, only to find them dried out when you reach for them again. I am forced to toss them and head out to buy another. WASTE!!! You have a biodegradable product in your home that’ll work the same magic: ketchup! Yes, ketchup.

For copper, simply put a thin layer of ketchup on the offended surface for a short time, then rinse and dry. No soaps or chemicals needed. The amount of tarnish will dictate the time, so experiment for how long to leave on.

The same thing works for silver. Ketchup only needs a few minutes to work on your jewelry and spoons, etc, so rinse and reapply if necessary. Don’t leave on too long or you might damage the pieces. Use a toothbrush for details. Rinse and dry and be on your way.
